Alex came to New York on vacation in 1992 and never went back. This former architecture student started his career @ the legendary underground party XK, where he served the masses with his signature futuristic-tribal sound. Word quickly spread of this rising star's potential, and he was offered a prestigious spot on the main floor of New York's Twilo Night Club, opening for Danny Tenaglia. Later on he was taking the helm as the headlining act, leading to his residency @ Peter Gatien's Tunnel Nightclub. Alex was approached by Grammy winner remixer-producer Peter Rauhofer, who introduced him to the recording studio. they collaborated on several tracks for Peter's project under the moniker 'size queen'. Alex favorite track, 'k-hole', would later became his first remix project, a joint-venture with New York City great Johnny Vicious. When the legendary church-turned-nightclub, Limelight was re-opened in the summer of 1998, Alex signed on for a weekly spot which would bring him to the attention of New York most infamous nightclub promoters Marc Berkley and John Blair. This dynamic duo introduce the young debutante and his unique sound to the notoriously elite circuit scene, offering him headline duties @ Limelight's drama, and later @ the to the-rafters main event, Roxy Saturdays, as dj Victor Calderone's special guest.

Most recently Alex mixed HX magazine's debut (double) cd compilation, the critically acclaimed " the hx project", which he is been touring since then along USA, Canada, Japan, and South America. Note, this former architecture student and, by extension, a perfectionist who would always color inside the lines- insisted on recording the set in a 'live ' setting in order to enhance its overall energy. According to Lauterstein's philosophy, " something that is recorded in a studio is often going to be too perfect, it's not going to have the 'live' feel, for me that feeling is very important". Alex's reputation has won him fans both here in USA and abroad, having played sold-out venues from Punta Del Este, South America, to Toronto, Montreal in Canada, to Tokyo, Japan. Alex is working on 2 studio projects @ this time, one with composer Hayley Moss, in a film soundtrack meets electronica meets house project, under the studio name "three wing butterfly". The group first track was picked up by Peter Rauhofer for a remix project of his classics works. Alex is also nurturing a solo project, writing, mixing, and producing the sound he helped create. After touring over 12 cities in the USA, Canada, South America, in less than 3 months with highly acclaimed performances, Alex is working on a new continuos mix cd "global groove" for Centaur Records, which will be released in late March. With an upcoming new promotional tour in the States, Canada and Japan, and several upcoming studio releases, this enigmatic young performer's finest day are yet to come.
